Job Search & Career Coaching Services by Prof. George C. Hairston
I will become your Job Search Agent, committed to help you land a good job and to boost your career! I provide assistance to individuals in identifying their career passions and goals;and, then help them to map out and follow a plan to achieve those goals. Steps included in that process are: a) develop a career vision, b) develop the plan to execute the vision, and c) track the plan to make sure that it gets accomplished in a timely fashion. Particular elements of the services include a determination of my client's strengths, weaknesses, professional likes and dislikes, education requirements, industry opportunities and detailing of a step-by-step plan to accomplish their business or career objectives and goals. Given that some job market sectors are shrinking, while other exciting new ones are rapidly emerging, some individuals are trying to decide whether a career change makes sense for them. If so,it is a plus that career change and personal transformation is my specialty. I have developed that skill by my work as a Professor teaching Adult Career Development in college, by conducting workshops on career development, and discussing those topics on an on-going basis.

Career/Vision-building for Our Children is Critical!
Child Career Coaching builds, within our youth, a vision that is needed to inspire them to pursue their "offered" destiny of success. I say "offered" because we will remember that God "offered"/provided for the "Promised Land" for the Israelites, but they still had to fight the battle to receive it. Likewise, we are all offered a destiny of success, but we each must battle to achieve it! What is this vision I speak of? It is a dream or an idea of what a person wants to be or wants to achieve. For example, at age 5, my daughter had developed a career vision of becoming a dentist, like our "village" friend, Dr. Robert Jones. That vision served as a magnet for many years, drawing her to complete a college degree. She later switched to becoming a lawyer, but the early vision had already done its job. All three of my children had their career visions, and are now all very successful. Further, two of my nieces completed their doctoral degrees in 2010, driven by their implanted visions. I have two grand-nieces on nearly full scholarships at Wake Forest and the University of Virginia, following their visions of success. And, about two weeks ago, a grand-niece in the 9th grade, following her dream of becoming a doctor, was recognized as one of the most outstanding students in the U.S., and was invited by the White House Doctor to participate in a 10-day leadership forum. What accounts for this success? I contend that it is not extra brain power posessed by us Hairstons, but because of the career/vision-building done by their relatives, extended family and "village." Are the youth in your family being taken care of? For myself, I have decided to go beyond my family and perform this service as a business in youth centers, schools, churches and other appropriate settings for youth. Career Assessments Are Very Valuable!
Health check-up's are critical to maintaining a healthy physical well-being. Such check-up's address blood pressure, weight management, cholestrol control, etc. Likewise, in order to have a successful career, you need to perform regular career assessments. Such an assessment should include the following questions: 1) how compatible and congruent are your career Vision and career "calling" or passion?, 2)how detailed and action-oriented is your career execution plan?, 3) does your resume convey your most desirable and most powerful market image?, 4) how concise, clear and effective is your "Elevator Speech"?, and 4) how well-trained are you in the ability to perform well in an interview? If you score well in each of these areas, you should have no problem in maintaining a very successful career. For your awareness, I do specialize in the Career Assessment and Career-boosting business. If you have interest in considering this activity, please contact me on my Cell at 301-520-1074, e-mail me at ghairston0322@gmail.com, or visit my web site at www.vision2excel.com

Our Successes are Often Hidden Inside Our Struggles!
Nowadays, our lives appear to be moving faster and faster, and are often complicated and challenging. Added to that, we often get very busy and distracted;and, suddenly bad things begin to happen to us --- the struggles set in! Yet, we should not panic. There is possibly some good news hidden inside our struggles. So, as Romans 5:3 advises, don't despise your struggles. First, our desire for success now has our full attention. We are now at a crossroad! We have to make a critical choice. We can plug up our ears, lie down and let failure run all over us, and sing "woe and pitiful am I!" Or, we can analyze our struggling situation, accept the bitter fight, declare war on it, and determine what we need to do turn the struggle into a big success story.
When was the last time you performed an assessment of your career and life situation? Are you passionate about your job and career, or are you just working for a paycheck? Are your education, training, academic degrees and knowledge and skill competitive and up-to-date? If not, you may be relegated to a permanent lack of success. Please recognize that you are engaged in a "career war" -- battling for success! That demon called Failure is trying to deny you the success that is absolutely available to you. So, get busy in doing your own self-assessment, or contract with an expert to help you with the assessment. You will never regret the decision to do so!

Turning Your Job and Career Struggles into Successes!
I am sure that you have heard the phrases "No Pain, No Gain!" and "No Cross, No Crown!" Those phrases have withstood the test of time because there is so much truth in them. They say, basically , that if you truly want a "crown" of career success, then you should not allow yourself to despise and flee from the training and preparation classrooms of career struggle. Often, our greatest successes develop out of the pain of those very classrooms. One notable case is that of Colonel Sanders who didn't conceptualize and establish his Kentucky Fried Chicken business until he was 63 years old, and discovered at that time, upon receiving his first Social Security pay check, that he did not have enough annual income to survive. He immediately kicked off a complete assessment of his skills, knowledge, contacts and anything else he possessed. The rest is history! He built a billion dollar business empire before he died! What a career struggle he faced! And, what a subsequent career success he achieved! Have you perfomed such a comprehensive self-assessment as yet? This self-assessment and inventory-taking of your personal resources sounds a lot like the widow's story recorded in the bible at 2 Kings Chapter 4. Indeed, I am convinced that you have a lot more to offer than you think! There certainly are availabe services, processes, tools and techniques to help you to make that self-assessment and chart out your future job and career success.
